What was your experience like with joining the cast of Magic Mike XXL?

tWitch: Man, it was a lot of things. Everybody was incredibly, incredibly cool and supportive in all aspects. From learning your performance and choreography to supporting each other through clean eating and working out, it was an incredible challenge. No egos whatsoever, which really created a really nice work environment.

Channing Tatum was the one who recruited you for the film. How did he approach you for it?

tWitch: It’s a nice little roundabout story. His wife Jenna was a huge dancer and choreographer at the time. She did a guest judging spot on So You Think You Can Dance? That’s when she kind of mentioned it to me; that it was an idea. From there, through various forms of communication, we set up a meeting. I went in and talked to Channing and the director Greg about it. They asked me if I would be down. They had parts specifically in line for me. They asked if I would be even be interested in doing it, and of course I was like, “Hell yes I will!” We just went from there.

Working with all of these big names on set, were there any really memorable stories from working on the film?

tWitch: Well, it was a time of solidarity. We always use to laugh while we were rehearsing all these bad ass dance moves and things like that. Then there’s got to be the time when we’re all standing there next to nothing [laughs].

What was your favorite scene to shoot?

tWitch: My favorite was probably the finale. That was my favorite to shoot, but also to watch. All of the performances are absolutely ridiculous, so that was the most fun that we’ve had. We also had close to 3,000 extras who were genuinely excited. The energy in the room was electric. It was crazy.

We understand that you had to get waxed for the film?

tWitch: Oh yes, I went through it – Full body. It was awful. It was so bad. That’s another thing on solidarity, as all the other guys got waxed too. They kind of experienced it with the first film, though. They knew what was in store. I did not. I have never been waxed before, and it was very painful [laughs]. I am making a public statement to say that I fully support any woman who is not going to go through with it anymore. I totally understand.
