While the public has been giving Lil B a lot of flack for his recent stunt of wearing women’s clothing on ESPN, he’s gained the respect of one of the hottest rappers out, Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick explained on Twitter that both Lil B and Lil Wayne have been huge influences when it comes to “swaggin in videos.”Kendrick Lamar

“Thank you BasedGod. Teaching us all how to swagg in videos. You and Wayne most influential. Thank you BasedGod.”

There’s no hiding that Lil B could careless what anyone has to say about his image. He’s the only rapper who can talk about having endless “b*tches” on his “d*ck,” while rocking a pair of grandma’s earrings. Regardless of the taunts about his sexuality, The BaseGod isn’t changing his swag for anybody, which is probably why schools like NYU invite him to be a speaker for their classes!

The same can be said about Wayne. When he was going through his skateboarding/teddy bear shoe phase, people questioned it wondering, “Where is the ‘old Wayne?'” Well, “old Wayne” never left. He just chose to change a few things up and for people like K Dot, there’s nothing wrong with that. After all, his swag hasn’t negatively affected the hundreds of hits he’s put out.

It’s easy to see why Kendrick respects the two artists because he, himself,  believes in the importance of doing your own thing. -Breanna Davis
