Eminem has undoubtedly put in the work to be one of rap’s most notable figures in the last decade. The Detroit MC known for his early hits like “Stan” and “Forgot About Dre” has made hip-hop history for being the first artist to be honored with two Diamond Awards from the Record Industry Association of America.

In 2002 Eminem rapped,“Look at my sales, Let’s do the math; if I was Black, I would have sold half, I ain’t have to graduate from Lincoln High School to know that, But I could rap, so f*ck school, I’m too cool to go back, gimme the mic, show me where the f*cking studio’s at” commenting on his privilege in hip-hop not to discredit his work as an artist and the hits that got him there.

Other Diamond Award honorees include Led Zeppelin, Garth Brooks, and The Beatles. However, The Real Slim Shady isn’t letting the good news get to his head. Instead the 8 Mile rapper is busy executing producing the Paramount TV series Narc as well as serving as their musical supervisor which has been in production since last year.

Congrats Em!
