Twitter has gotten another celebrity in major trouble. Iggy Azalea who is known for having strong opinions on the popular social networking site is going to have to eat her words after fans dug up homophobic tweets right before she was scheduled to celebrate the LGBT community for Pittsburgh Pride. The new fiancé of Nick Young had this to say about the incident “I am truly disappointed that I have to share this news, but I will no longer be performing at Pittsburgh Pride on June 13th. This has been a difficult decision as I truly support the event and LGBTIQA communities however if feel my participation at this point would only serve to further distract from the true purpose of the event.”
The tweets that caused the show’s cancelation haven’t resurfaced but it was enough to offend fans. Recently a petition was also formed to strip the rapper of her Billboard Music Award for best rap song where “Fancy” took home the gold. Since the incident and the petition the rapper has canceled her tour to take a “mental break” from the world.
