Brooklyn Underground Rapper Pumpkinhead Dead, Age 39

Veteran rapper Alan “Pumpkinhead” Diaz, passed away at 5:40am this morning, from reasons unknown at this present time.

The Brooklyn rapper was a staple in New York’s underground music scene and emerged as a shining talent in the late 1990’s. He impressed audiences with appearances on Immortal Technique’s Revolutionary 1 and Revolutionary 2 albums, and also Jean Grae’s Bootleg Of A Bootleg EP. In 2005, Pumpkinhead released his Marco Polo-produced album Orange Moon Over Brooklyn and was also a part of the legendary Brooklyn Academy.

Pumpkinhead took his talent of battle rapping across America as well as touring in Japan, Australia, Sweden, and Amsterdam, and opening for the likes of the Boot Camp Click, the Goo Goo Dolls, and more.

Pumpkinhead was only 39 years-old. Rest in peace.
