tidal announce charity concert with some big names.

The Jay-Z-led music subscription service TIDAL is becoming more and more appealing by the day. It was just announced that the new streaming service will partner with Hot 97 to stream this year’s Summer Jam festival taking place this Sunday, June 7th at MetLife stadium in New Jersey.

The TIDAL X stream will catch all of the performances from both the Festival Stage and Stadium Stage, as well as backstage interviews, Live Broadcast room, and more. “Through this partnership, HOT 97 is not only able to provide fans with the hottest content, but also able to work with the biggest emerging music platform out today. As the Digital Age progresses, radio must progress with it. We’re excited to work with TIDAL to expand HOT 97’s presence, as well as give viewers a taste of the live action via the stream” states Deon Levingston, General Manager of Emmis NY.

But that’s not all TIDAL’s been up to lately.

Lil Wayne has officially joined the TIDAL family as co-owner, according to Forbes –releasing an exclusive single “Glory” earlier this week. Weezy joins a hefty list of stars who have released music exclusively through TIDAL including Rihanna, Beyonce, Madonna, and Daft Punk.

In addition to the upcoming exclusives, TIDAL now offers a brand new ticketing feature powered by Ticketmaster. The integration with Live Nation’s ticketing company allows Tidal to offer in-app ticket purchases. Some other new additions are standard in the industry. TIDAL has debuted desktop clients for Mac and Windows to join the web and mobile app versions of the service as well. Power moves.

Now that TIDAL offers college discounts, students can pay $4.99 per month for the standard service and $9.99 per month for the high-fidelity, lossless service. Tidal joins a list of competing services to offer lower pricing to students. Targeting college students is a great move, with all their money being spent on books and ramen noodles.

In other words, TIDAL is slowly dominating the streaming world. If you haven’t yet, get your subscription before you miss out on too much more.
