The Roots hosted their 8th annual Picnic this past weekend, where thousands of event-goers gathered to hear some of our favorite music in Philly.

While the legendary band taking the stage certainly became a highlight, many other big names came out to put on some epic performances for fans.

Erykah Badu headlined the festival stage with The Roots and Jeremy Ellis, where she performed some of her classic hits, but it was the surprise guests that made the crowd go wild.

Freeway hopped on stage with Erykah, where he performed “Roc The Mic,” followed by YG, who performed his smash hit “My Ni**a.” The Lox also came out to perform “All About The Benjamins” and “Money, Power, Respect” for the packed crowd. The Weeknd performed many of his fan favorites during his set, including “Earned It” and even came back out later in the show during The Roots’ and Badu’s set, re-igniting the crowd.

A$AP Rocky also took the picnic stage, where he performed some of his tracks off his newest album At.Long.Last.A$AP, and also incorporated a Rest In Peace moment for his late friend A$AP Yams. Rocky was also joined by A$AP Mob members Twelvy and Nast during his set.

The picnic also saw an appearance from Jay Ellis, who showed a preview from the upcoming final season of The Game, which he stars on as Blue.
