Was there any nerves for the wedding, being that it was on television?

Yandy: Oh my gosh, I had so many nerves! Am I going to trip? Are my vows going to magically leave my head? And with this guy, you can never control what he says or does. He’s a free spirit and does what he wants to do. So I told them to remove all alcohol from the building, because then I really won’t be in control of anything.

Mendeecees: Right! You don’t get the chance to do it over. I was having trouble writing my vows and learning them.

What were some of your favorite parts, and least favorite parts, about planning the wedding?

Yandy: The most favorite part has been picking out the dress, and seeing all my girls get fit. I have not been able to hang out with my girls, who are all from high school and college. Being able to hang out with them and go get dress fittings, do makeup tests, hair tests, and the bachelorette party, has been so great. The worst part was dealing with him not being involved in the details. He feels like he’s not involved, and that this is just Yandy’s wedding. He feels like he’s left out in a lot of the planning and decision-making.

Mendeecees: I’m learning that most guys don’t participate in the wedding planning. I don’t mind that, though. I just need some more invites, that’s all. I have 30 people against 200.

What are you most excited for on the big day?

Yandy: I’m excited for the vows. We’ve been together for so long that expressing what we’re feeling and promising stuff to each other is something we don’t do anymore. Like, “Oh I promise to love you forever!” We don’t do that anymore. The fact that I gotta stand up there and hear him say these things to me, and hear him declare it in front of everyone, is something I can’t wait for.

Mendeecees: I’m excited for it to actually happen and be over with. So let’s get this show on the road.

Yandy: If we could’ve been at the court house, or in Vegas at 2 A.M., that’s where we would’ve been for him. He is so not about this wedding life, mainly because he doesn’t know what it is to be about. He’ll see. He’s going to have a ball.

Do you have any particular music selections?

Yandy: See, I know all of that, but he doesn’t know. Since I said it was all about me, I picked out a lot of his favorite songs for different things.

Mendeecees: Am I supposed to dance with my mom?

Yandy: You know you have to dance with your mom. C’mon now. I picked the song for you.

Mendeecees: I thought that you were just joking. She don’t dance. I don’t dance.

Yandy: Well, you’re going to dance today! Mendeecees: We’ll dance for a verse.
