With a new generation of music coming to life in present day, it seems like people are still in love with everything about nostalgia. The ’90s have arguably been considered a Golden Era in music, especially in the case of R&B, when Ginuwine was one of the biggest sensations when it came to cranking out hits. These days, the R&B crooner has plans to step back into the studio to make music, and is still fulfilling his sex symbol status by starring in the new male stripper film, Chocolate City.

After briefly working on the movie alongside Vivica A. Fox, Tyson Beckford, and director Jean-Claude La Marre, Ginuwine is ready to get back on his solo music tip. “I just want to make sure that when I do it, I come correct,” he explains, before revealing that he has been meeting with Timbaland to figure out his future musical direction. He’s also eager to get back in the studio to cook up some magic with Timbo’s fellow hitmaker, Missy Elliott.

For our latest Civil Interview, we caught up with Ginuwine to discuss his role in Chocolate City, his thoughts on Aaliyah’s legacy and TK. –Lindsey India
