The life and career of Amy Winehouse is being turned into a film. The singer who described herself as “a girl who sings” versus a star has had her long awaited film from Senna director Asif Kapadia, official trailer premiere and the footage is nothing short of haunting. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, whose sudden death due to alcohol poisoning at 27 four years ago, shocked international media and fans worldwide.

“The more people see of me the more they’ll realize that all I’m good for is making music,” Amy laughs in the film.

The official release date has not been announced as of yet but the film has received raging reviews and praise at the Cannes Film Festival thus far.
