Mobb Deep definitely knows a little something about outlasting the competition for a lengthy period of time. Their latest venture in their 20 year career is in conjunction with the NBA, as Havoc and Prodigy teamed up with ESPN and the NBA to remix their 1995 The Infamous single “Survival of The Fittest,” which will serve as the opening music for “NBA Countdown” during the Western Conference Finals. Not the East, for whatever reason.

The remix itself is a no-brainer as it’s the 20th Anniversary of the Mobb’s “Survival Of The Fittest,” and the meaning of the song is as relevant as it’s ever been — the NBA playoffs might as well be called the “survival of the fittest.”
