Art Week is buzzing in New York City. Last night (May 7), Sotheby’s S|2 art gallery, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, created the ultimate concoction of art world collaborations: showcasing many pieces by iconic African American artists, such as Basquiat, Kehinde Wiley, Kara Walker, and more with a soundtrack curated by Drake –sponsored by Beats by Dre. That’s not all. Drizzy made sure he handpicked the most poppin’ DJ in NYC — Vashtie Kola — and had individual headphones placed next to a piece called “I Like It Like This.” Attendees were able to experience both the visual and auditory in a clash between high brow auction house art and hip-hop music chosen by the rap star. Next to that, a regal Kehinde Wiley portrait pulses with power when paired with ASAP Rocky’s “Multiply”; Nick Cave’s vibrant “Soundsuit” partnered with Kendrick Lamar’s “F**k your Ethnicity.”

Drake looks like he is really enjoying himself, and Vashtie just looks amazing as always.
