PARTYNEXTDOOR has done a great job of staying behind the scenes while still building himself quite the career since signing with OVO in 2013. For the first time since breaking through the music industry, PND gives the Fader his first official interview in addition to covering their latest issue.

The R&B sensation discussed an array of things for his sit-down with the FADER including his early career when he was known as Jahron B., the fact that he pitched himself to Jimmy Iovine as a solo artist, where his name PARTYNEXTDOOR comes from, how he got linked together with Drake and OVO and much more. PND also talks about the new music he’s working on as well as the touring life.

“I would never call myself mysterious. The word I use is ‘private.’ I’m not hiding from pictures. When you see me, I’ll say whassup.”

“I get on the phone with the label and I’m like, ‘Am I doing everything the right way? Let me do an interview cause no one’s paying attention. And then I get a wake up call when I stand up in front of a show.”
