Earlier this month, Kendrick Lamar released the Lil Homies & Director X-directed visuals for “King Kunta”, an amazing track off of To Pimp a Butterfly. Today, he is sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the day of the video shoot, which features K. Dot engaging with his community. The Christian San Jose-directed video starts off with an elderly man explaining what “King Kunta” stands for, “King Kunta stands for strength/Powers/Individuals together/Unity.” On the set of the music video, starting at 8:30am, you will see Compton come together, all thanks to Lamar.

“King Kunta” symbolizes strength, power, unity – not just within an individual, but an entire community.”
