It is without a doubt that Drake isn’t hurting for funds. Listening to his recent “mixtape,” Drizzy rhymes about having two mortgages and making lofty purchases. With his bank account sitting pretty, the OVO rep put some of those dollars to good use in a donation of $75,000 to Strawberry Mansion High School in Philadelphia.

The school – which is located in one of the poorest parts to the city – was able to create a new recording school. Completed last summer, the school has finally found a music instructor to lead the students in enjoying their new studio.

“We thought we were going to be ready to go in September. They’ve been dying to get in,” Linda Cliatt-Wayman, principal, said.

According to Billboard, Drake was moved to make the donation after watching an ABC News segment of Wayman’s efforts to improve the school. During a tour stop in October 2013, the rapper invited a few individuals from the school community for a private pre-show event where he announced the donation.

“This is about you. This is about your principal. This is about your future,” Drake said. “I love you. I care about you. I want to see you succeed.”
