Joey Bada$$ is riding high off of the success of his debut album B4.DA.$$.,  but the young, educated New York spitter isn’t holding back with content. Today, Bada$$ calls on another promising up comer BJ The Chicago Kid for the official video for “Like Me.” Always speaking on relevant issues, Joey focuses on the killing of unarmed black teenagers, a thing that’s sickeningly becoming far too common.

The point of the video, from Joey’s perspective, is that regardless of his involvement in a particular situation, he ends up getting dragged into these things because of where he lives and his surrounding, much like the aforementioned wrongful shootings of unarmed teenagers. In an exclusive interview, Joey told Mother Jones“In the video, the hot-headed guy, he gets killed by the police with a gun in his hand. And me, the cool guy, who is away from all the violence, I still end up being mixed in the loop—just being a victim because of my surroundings or where I’m from.”
