Bobby Shmurda, the Brooklyn rapper that hit the scene hard with “Hot N***a,” has posted a bail of $2 million after spending six weeks in jail over gun charges.

Shmurda, given name Ackquille Pollard, may be getting out of jail soon if the city decides to allow his release after the 72 hour review period. The Bail was put together by Ira Judelson, the same bail bondsman that’s known to have high profile hip-hop clients like Ja Rule and DMX, according to the New York Times.

“If the city is playing fair, there will be no need for a hearing,” said Kenneth Montgomery, Mr. Shmurda’s lawyer, to NYT.

Shmurda, and members of the GS9 collective, were arrested on Dec. 17 for charges that range from gun possession to attempted murder.
