L.A. hip-hop collective group OverDoz. is pushing the envelope with their newest video for “Rich White Friends.” Staying true to the title,  the videopulls from the group’s experience after partying at Coachella with their well, rich white friends. However, the video’s concept spans far beyond the turn-up.

Director Calmatic turned the Hit-Boy produced track into a visual that incorporates currents events involving police brutality with lyrics to support it:

“Got my hoodie on like Trayvon
My pants down like Mike Brown
Remember Columbine
What happen if we organize”

OverDoz., composed of Sleezy, Tube, Creamie, and Kent,  provides listeners with a fresh take on the L.A. hip-hop scene with music combined with comedic relief creating an authentic sound you won’t expect. The group has collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino and received praise for their “swag and personality” from Pharell, comparing them to legendary hip-hop duo OutKast.
