It seems that the looming beef between Lil Wayne and Birdman is coming to a head.

After announcing that he wants out of his contract with Cash Money Records a while back, and taking shots at the label he helped champion for years in his latest project, Sorry for the Wait 2, Wayne is taking Birdman to court.

The Young Money rapper says that Birdman owes him $8 million, which was supposed to be an advance, after pushing back the release date for Tha Carter V until further notice, according to TMZ.

After the two attempted to come to terms, and allegedly failed, they’re putting the decision of whether or not Wayne can get out of his Cash Money contract into the hands of a judge.

Birdman still stands behind the notion that he’ll be releasing Wayne’s next album in due time, but that doesn’t seem to be working out for everyone.
