In GQ’s latest issue, the mag kicks off “The Legacy Project.” With Pharrell on the cover, the contents include interviews with a vast range of artists including Stevie Wonder, Future, Nas and more.

Nas speaks on his involvement as being a voice for “the voiceless,” his infamous beef with Jay Z, his thoughts on retirement, Notorious B.I.G.’s impact on hip-hop, race relations in America and his thoughts on the Eric Garner case.

“Unfortunately, I’m not surprised cops are still murdering people,” he said.  “But I am surprised that the law enforcement did not do the correct thing with illegal chokeholds. A chokehold because of a man stating his piece—telling them he didn’t do anything. An illegal chokehold! It’s embarrassing to New York, and it’s embarrassing to the country.”
