Chicago’s own Chance the Rapper joined Sway, Christina Milian and others in celebrations of the inaugural “Get Schooled, Get Connected Challenge.”

Get Schooled, a non-profit organization led by Bill and Melinda Gates alongside Viacom, teamed up with Internet Essentials and Chicago City of Learning for the semester long contest. The program featured several quests and rewards to motivate 13-19 year old students to prepareĀ for college.

Quests included tasks like preparing for college entrance exams, applying for financial aid and completing college applications. Students earned points for completing tasks which reaped big awards like laptops and gaming systems. More than 50,000 quests were completed.

The top six schools and six community based organizations will split the $100,000 check courtesy of Internet Essentials. With the money, schools and the community based organizations will be able to enhance computer labs and Internet access.

Chance continues to lead the way in his community service efforts, particularly at home, since being recognized asĀ the “Outstanding Youth of the Year” last November.
