Life has been good for Rae Sremmurd since they released their debut album Sremm Life earlier this week. Artists like Chance The Rapper, Nas, Future, Nicki Minaj and more have shown support for the duo but they knew it was real when rapper Kendrick Lamar tweeted lyrics from Rae Sremmurd’s song “Unlock The Swag.” Being that “Unlock The Swag” isn’t one of their radio singles (yet) it is safe to say that Kendrick is giving the album some play and is enjoying it.

That one tweet received over 6,000+ retweets and the brothers are beyond ecstatic about it. Rae Sremmurd sat down with HotNewHipHop to discuss the positive reviews they’ve received since releasing the album.

“No matter who it is, I just be like, damn that’s crazy. Cause we came from the mud, it just feel crazy,” Swae Lee started.

“Nas hit me inside of the head, when I seen that Nas did, that hit me inside of the head. When the God shout you out, man, you gotta respect that,” Jimmy added.

As for that Kendrick tweet, Swae Lee said, “That’s crazy bro. That’s like a big moment in history right there for us.”

In the interview, they discussed the inspiration behind making “Unlock The Swag,” and staying true their New Year’s resolution which is to “keep elevating and going in.” Watch the entire interview below.
