Mila J is all L.A. all the time. Putting on for her beloved city as part of the new #MilaMondays web series premiered on Rap-Up, the songstress gives us a tour of her stomping grounds.

“I think the misconception is that everybody thinks that L.A. is this glamorous, Hollywood,” she said. “It’s not just the image shown to you of this fake, plastic Barbie doll.”

Showing the real L.A. to all those watching, the “Smoke, Drink, Break-up” crooner gets personal with an introduction of her father, Karamo “Dr. Chill” Chilombo at Leimert Plaza Park. Walking through the various street shops and bumping into friends, Mila hopes to show L.A. past the glitz and glamour.

“I feel like people will connect to me because I am relatable. I want to be the icon from L.A., not just an artist from L.A. I want to be legendary.”

Since releasing her five-track EP, M.I.L.A featuring guest appearances from B.o.B, Ty Dolla $ign and Problem, the songstress is readying her full length debut to arrive some time next year. Press play.
