In a tragic turn of events, Ismaaiyl Brinsley fatally shot two New York City policeman before ending his own life in a nearby train station this past Saturday (Dec. 20). Before the situation unfolded, Brinsley took to Instagram where he outlined his intentions with the caption: “I’m Putting Wings On Pigs Today. They Take 1 Of Ours…… Let’s Take 2 of Theirs.”

He also posted a picture of a handgun and blood on his shoe where he used 50 Cent’s lyrics from “Green Lantern” cut off his 2002 mixtape, No Mercy, No Fear. The caption read: “Never Had A Hot Gun On Your Waist And Blood On Your Shoe…. N—a You Ain’t Been Through What I Been Through You Not Like Me And I’m Not Like You.”

Fif did not offer his thoughts on his lyrics quoted by Brinsley but he quickly posted on Instagram his disapproval of the murders on Instagram. “Randomly shooting police officers is not the answer.”

He also utilized an oft-used Gandhi quote, “An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.”

50 Cent joins others in the hip-hop community speaking out against the recent killings including Chuck D, Talib Kweli and The Game. Before fatally shooting the two cops in Brooklyn, Brinsley was accused of also shooting his ex-girlfriend in the abdomen while in Baltimore hours before. Her Aunt commented on his photo on Instagram of his outlined intentions, claiming that he had shot her niece earlier in the morning.
