As the allegations continue to pour in accusing Bill Cosby of drugging and sexually abusing over a dozen women, his wife Camille Cosby has finally broken her silence. Following her husband’s brief statement to the NY Post’s Stacy Brown, Camille issued a statement in which she compared her husband’s accusations to that of the University of Virginia gang rape situation.

“We all follow the story of the article in the ‘Rolling Stone’ concerning allegations of rape at the University of Virginia. The story was heart-breaking, but ultimately appears to be proved untrue. Many in the media were quick to link that story to stories about my husband—until that story unwound.

None of us ever want to be in the position of attacking a victim. But the question should be asked—who is the victim?”

Similarly to Bill’s call to the media to remain “neutral” in their reporting, Camille questions why journalists aren’t “vetting” these women’s stories. Read her full statement to CBS News on the following page.
