Plan your fight parties now. Shortly after the turn of the New Year, Roc Nation will unveil its inaugural boxing event – Throne Boxing – which will feature live music. Appropriately taking place at New York’s Madison Square Garden, the fight night will represent a balance between music and boxing.

On Jan. 9, Washington D.C.’s Dusty Hernandez Harrison will fight New York’s Tommy Rainone in a 10-round match for the vacant WBC Continental Americas Welterweight Championship. Roc Nation Sports’ chief operating officer of boxing, David Itskowitch, will add an interesting musical twist to keep things interesting.

“It’s going to have a lot of bells and whistles that you don’t normally see on events that are televised on basic cable,” Itskowitch explains. According to Billboard he also says that mid-fight, “we’re gonna be hitting the pause button and a big-name artist will perform in the arena. That’s a bold thing that’s never been done before.”

In the coming weeks, the special performer will be announced. There will also be room for an emcee and DJ – all of whom will be from the Roc Nation roster. Tickets for the upcoming fight of on sale today (Dec. 9) on Ticketmaster at 1:00 p.m. and will be available at the MSG box office.
