Following the decision of “no indictment” of Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of unarmed teen Michael Brown, violent unrest erupted in the community. Police adorning tactical gear, tear gas and bean bags were all used to calm the rioting. While the streets of Ferguson unraveled, protests in solidarity popped up in New York City, Oakland, Seattle, Chicago and more.

With many people flooding the streets, Q-Tip joined protesters in the streets of Time Square while Macklemore walked with those in Seattle. More artists took to their social media accounts to voice their frustrations surrounding the grand jury decision.

“I’m emotional because I could’ve been that nigga that they killed man,” August Alsina said to a crowd of fans during a performance.
