For the past 18 years, Christopher Roney, most notably known as rapper Cool C, has been serving time for the first-degree murder of a Philadelphia police officer during a botched bank robbery attempt in 1996.

Reaching success for his hit single, “Glamorous Life,” Cool C’s rap career came to a stop when he was arrested in October of 1996. The day that Roney will be executed has now been revealed to be January 8, 2015 via lethal injection.

Until this day comes, Roney will continue the rest of his sentence at the State Correctional Institution at Greene in Pennsylvania.
