Kendrick Lamar’s new single “I” dropped just a couple of weeks ago, and it’s been getting some major buzz, both positive and critical.

Since almost everyone has gotten to hear the new track by now, he found the perfect opportunity to perform it for the first time at the We Day 2014 concert in Toronto last night. The TDE rapper’s appearance was a surprise for the crowd, joining a hefty star-studded lineup that performed to inspire the youth to get involved in social change.

It’s safe to say that “I” comes in at perfect timing for the theme of the event.
