Meek Mill‘s request for an early parole was denied today (Monday 18). The Associated Press reports, Judge Genese Brinkley, the same official who gave Meek his sentence of three-to-six months back on July 11 for violation of his probation, did not rule in favor of Meek’s release to continue his career.

The courtroom for today’s hearing was filled with DJ Khaled, members of Dreamchasers, Maybach Music and Atlantic Records but unfortunately Meek’s parole was rejected, ending the possibility that Meek could have been released today.

Meek was stated to violate his probation by using a gun in a music video and failing a drug test. Dennis Cogan, defense lawyer for Meek, countered by stating the gun was a prop and the drugs were prescribed after an ankle injury.

In addition to denying his release, Judge Brinkley ordered Meek Mill to take anger management classes prior to his release.

“I wanted him to be able to grow and get to the next level (of his career),” Common Pleas Judge Brinkley said. “But I can’t do that with him thumbing his nose at me.”

The defense for Meek Mill will not stop there; they are continuing to press forward in the hopeful release by filing paperwork petitioning to grant bail to Meek.
