J.Cole Says ‘Violence Cannot Bring Peace’ in Interview from Ferguson

While the Mike Brown protest are continuing in Missouri, artists are showing their concern for their situation by creating songs and showing in the town in support of justice for the fallen teenager. A few days ago, J.Cole released “Be Free” and now the North Carolina product visited Ferguson to join the protests of West Florissant where he was tracked down by Complex.

While taking the time out to speak to area residents and in the midst of the protest, J. Cole granted the interview favor speaking on what compelled him to take the trip, artists working in a form of activism and speaking against violence.

“Violence cannot bring peace. Period. It’s impossible. By the laws of the universe it’s impossible,” J. Cole said. “That’s what’s happening in Gaza and Israel. Violence don’t stop, there is no peace in violence.”
