The love that Drake shows NBA and his baller friends is actually going to cost him some serious dough. The Nothing Was The Same rapper hosted the OVO Fest last weekend, where he found out that his good friend Kevin Durant was in the crowd. While shouting him out as he was tending to his set duties on stage, he encouraged the city of Toronto to try and convince Durant to switch from OKC to Toronto for basketball in the future. This resulted in a $25,000 fine for the actor-rapper, as he told the crowd:

“Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something. You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen.”

Being that Drizzy is an ambassador for his hometown’s Raptors, this was a pretty big violation, since it is unauthorized recruiting for the team, and a violation of the NBA’s anti-tampering rule. We can’t say we blame Drake too much, since we all know just how hard he goes for his city.

Do you guys think Drake deserved to be fined for his actions?
