After disappointing album sales for Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuseor, Mariah Carey has decided to part ways with her management for the second time in just a few years. First it was Randy Jackson in 2013, and now it’s her long time friend Jermaine Dupri who replaced Jackson just a year prior.

Dupri tells Billboard, “I’m a very hands-on person when it comes to my work. I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.” At least they’ll still be making music together. That’s a necessity.

While there’s no official word on who her next manager will be, rumors have it that MC has been working close with Kevin Liles, who was not only the president of Def Jam when she was on the label, but also manages Ty Dolla $ign and Trey Songz, who are doing quite well to say the least.

What do you think of this decision? Is Kevin Liles a good choice to replace JD? Weigh in below.
