Marvel is doing some colorful rearranging of its superheroes. After gender swapping Thor from a he to a she, Captain America will now flip racial makeups to that of an African American.

Marvel’s CCO Joe Quesada revealed the details on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report last night (July 16), stating that Sam Wilson will be taking over Steve Rogers spot as Captain. “No Stephen, it’s not you…Sam Wilson, his partner the Falcon, is becoming the new Captain America.”

The switch up aligns with the recent Captain America: The Winter Soldier which starred Anthony Mackie as Falcon. Wilson will step into the red, white and blue suit this October.
