August Alsina Hung

The context needed behind August Alsina’s controversial Instagram flick of him hanging himself is finally here. In the visuals for the Pusha T-assisted “FML” cut off his debut, Testimony, August grapples with the harsh realities of life before deciding to end his own life.

“I’m livin’ this,” he says while breaking down the meaning of the video, “Even when you make it out you really don’t make it out. Even when you got everything in the world you still can get to a place where it’s like, man fuck everything.”

The young crooner gives off the vibe of suffering from his own success while he learns how to navigate social media, interviews and being a star in the mainstream. The gripping video ends with a message to those suffering from the same emotions August is experiencing and the number to the National Suicide Prevention Line.
