Pepsi Reigns In Kelly Rowland, Spike Lee And More For Visual Album

Pepsi is following Beyoncé’s lead as they pair artists with filmmakers to release a visual album June 10th ahead of the World Cup. Kelly Rowland, Spike Lee, Janelle Monae, Rita Ora and more will appear on the upcoming project, Beats of the Beautiful Game.

“What I love about this is how creative it is,” Rowland said. “It’s a project with a whole bunch of different artists being able to do different songs. I’m excited about being a part of something like this.”

Rowland’s song “The Game” will have a video directed by Spike Lee. “To be honest, it’ll be a great marketing tool for Pepsi,” Lee said. “There’s no reason I’d try to deny that.”

Starting May 20, a new track and short film will be released. Pepsi is looking to keep the spotlight on them and away from Coca-Cola, who is the main sponsor for the World Cup.
