Big Boi caught up with The Hollywood Reporter last night (April 20) during a Coachella after party he was DJ-ing. The rapper has quite the packed schedule this year as the OutKast tour dates and his own solo dates will force him to squeeze in recording for his third solo LP mostly on the road.

“I’m just working on it now,” he said. “I’ve got a lot of music, but it ain’t done until you turn it in. We’re about to do 40-something more concerts, so [I’ll be] recording on the road and traveling.”

Shooting for this year, with or without a finished project he plans to release some music. Besides his own solo project, the ATLien is also readying a full collaborative project with New York band Phantogram. The duo have released an EP prior and are looking to extend that into a full album.

“We’ve got songs which were already recorded when we were working on my last record,” he said. “They come down to Stankonia and we camp out for like a week and trade vibes. They go back to New York, then they come back down and we just keep the process going.”

With plenty of music in the works, Daddy Fat Sax hopes to drop his collaborative effort after he releases his third solo project. Head over to THR for the full interview.
