Ice Cube sat down with MTV News to discuss the future of “Straight Outta Compton,” a biopic centered on N.W.A, the legendary hip hop collective that included Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, MC Ren and Arabian Prince. According to Cube, casting for the F. Gary Grey-directed film began today (Jan. 8) to find who will portray the group’s members.

“We’re trying to tell aspects of our lives that people don’t know about, people aren’t privy to,” he said. “The neighborhood influenced NWA and then NWA influenced the neighborhood. That’s what we’re trying to portray.” –Keith Reid-Cleveland
