Viardo Artists and Natural 9 Entertainment have teamed up with Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter/producer Eric Benét for a new reality music competition hosted by Benét.

Sub-Stars will give musicians that perform in the subway systems of major cities across the United States a chance to win a record label deal and cash prizes. This competition will also give insight into that particular’s city underground world and culture.

“I am very excited about being a part of this new TV project,” Eric Benét said in a press release. “It gives truly unique characters with a different and innovative sound, a platform to showcase their musical individualism and real talent. Plus at the same time, explore our country’s busiest cities, but in an underground light.”

The show aims to be completely for the people, allowing fans to be apart of every aspect of the process from production, scouting for talent and later voting for the winner via the Sub-Stars Smartphone App.

Sub-Stars has launched a major crowd-funding campaign through Kickstarter that will continue through December 20 in hopes of reaching and exceeding a $399K goal. Find out more information about Sub-Stars here.
