After a historical debut on network television with Showtime this past October, the Ron Howard-directed documentary of Jay Z’s Made In America will make its way to the silver screen.

Independent distributor Phase 4 Films made the announcement yesterday that they have acquired the film with plans to release in theaters worldwide in Summer 2014.

The film was created over the course of two years, highlighting the inaugural year of Jay’s launch of the Made In America festival in Philadelphia. The film features behind the scenes footage of the planning stages to exclusive performances and interviews with artists such as Run DMC, Rita Ora, Janelle Monae, Passion Pit, Drake, Nine Inch Nails and more.

According to Phase 4 President and CEO Barry Meyerowitz, the full length project covers the overall mission the two-day showcase becoming “an uplifting and inspiring piece, not just for its musical performances but for the energy and resilience that it portrays.”
