Many fans were anxiously awaiting the premiere of Love and Hip Hop: New York last Monday. We all sat with our eyes glued to the television watching the foolery of this season’s new characters (Peter Gunz, Tara, Amina and K. Michelle) and vets (Yandy Smith, Erica Mena, Tahiry, Joe Budden and Rich Dollaz). As Black Twitter quickly realized, a lot of the new cast is, well–they’re not relevant to the music industry right now.

The show needs some authentic New York rappers, so for fun, we decided to put together a list of five rappers who could shine on Mona Scott-Young’s reality series. Check out the list below. – Shanae Hatchett

1. Cam’ron – This would be perfect for real Dipset fans! We are already aware of Cam’s love life with fiancée Juju through their hilarious Vine and Instagram clips. The best Love & Hip Hop seasons featured fellow Dipset members Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, anyway.

2. French Montana – The Bad Boy signee is having a great year right now after getting numerous hits on the radio. He is also rumored to be dating to be dating Miami’s own, Trina since his split from his wife. This alone could make for a good love dynamic. Plus, his celeb connects could make for great cameos.

3. Azealia Banks – Every season needs a female artist. Azealia has made headlines for a lot of controversy involving herself and many New York rappers. She’s also had the blog gods buzzing due to some homosexual comments. With her cattiness and sass, we’re sure she will bring the heat to the other ladies causing some fights.

4. Troy Ave – After being featured on numerous tracks with some big artists and working on his own projects, Troy Ave would be perfect to bring on the show to shake things up a bit.

5. Nicki Minaj – A self-proclaimed fan of the show, the Queen Barb has rapped and tweeted about it plenty of times. A behind-the-scenes look at her studio life, press events in New York and her alleged relationship with hype man, Scaf Beezy? We’ll be on time every week for that.
