This past Tuesday (Oct. 29) in New York, Rick Ross held a private listening session for his forthcoming album Mastermind.

Held at the Manhattan’s Spotted Pig restaurant, Ross gathered a group of industry execs and journalists for an intimate dinner that previewed the highly anticipated new Ross album.

About seven weeks shy of its officially release date, the Miami native previewed almost all tracks except the anxiously awaited collaboration with Jay-Z, “The Devil Is A Lie.” But he did preview new tracks such as “Ultimate Price,” and “Francis Ford Coppola.”

One track captivated the attention of all which is unnamed right now but samples The Notorious B.I.G.’s “You’re Nobody (Until Somebody Kills You),” which was featured on Life After Death.

The track addressed Ross’ recent life threatening shooting attempt beginning with a 911 call made the night of the drive-by. As the song continues Ross further goes into detail about the incident mirroring Biggie’s approach on the iconic record.

According to Rozay, the Mastermind track list is still in the works but album will drop December 17. – Shanae Hatchett
