Music producer and curator of everything cool, Pharrell is having a great year. Having been involved in two of the biggest singles of the year (Daft Punk ‘s“Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”) and becoming an ambassador along with Solange Knowles for eBay’s Follow It. Find It. campaign you can say Skateboard P–who, did we mention, got married this year too–has been pretty busy. But the Virginia native carved out ample time for Billboard to discuss working with Beyonce’s fifth solo album.

“B’s album is crazy,” he says of the anticipated LP. “Let me tell you what it is. She’s very particular. She’s a Virgo. And she’s not going to put it out until it’s ready and feels like it’s right to her.” And Bey’s response to music VIPs already loving it, according to him? “Yeah, I’m almost done.”

While waiting out for Queen B’s album like the rest of us, Pharrell’s cultivated a personalized eBay collection that consists of items like Chanel basketballs and Hermes scarves. Pharrell likes the convenience of eBay’s service – finding something when you can’t find it in stores.

Fear of losing a marketing tool,” he explained. “And it doesn’t have the gravitas that we’ve been convinced it has, because, essentially, you can find whatever you’re looking for on eBay. I’ve learned that eBay isn’t the place I thought it was. I thought it was a glorified yard sale. It’s not. It’s a place that is meant for convenience and where people can actually convene.”
