Kanye West Kicks Off ‘Yeezus’ Tour in Seattle

There is much buzz about the opening night of Kanye West‘s Yeezus tour last night ( in Seattle. After Kendrick Lamar took the stage with a live band, Ye performed a two hours set that featured a mountain back drop, dancers, an appearance from  an actor portraying Jesus. There was much to be said about show ranging from Kendrick’s set, Kanye‘s 2 hour performance as well as the merchandise of the tour, as some items featured the confederate flag. As fans were entering and exiting the arena they had the opportunity to purchase merchandise from the Yeezus tour, however some of the designs raised eyebrows as some of the pieces contained the confederate flag alone or wrapped around a skull. The confederate flag design was accompanied by other interesting designs such as skeletons praying with the words “God Wants You” underneath.

Opening for Kanye throughout the tour is Top Dawg Entertainment’s Kendrick Lamar, whose recent hot streak within hip hop creates anticipation for the entire show. Accompanied with a live band, Kendrick flows through his hits from his latest album setting the stage for a very intriguing Kanye performance.

Once Yeezus hit the stage there would be me even more topics to be buzzed about as the Chicago rapper was carried on stage by a group of dancers, had an interaction with Jesus and attendees also reported that Ye laid down during the middle of his performance, while the crowd rapped the words of Kanye’s songs.

Dressed in various Maison Martin Margiela masks and his vibrant “Red Octobers” color way of Nike’s Air Yeezy 2, Kanye provided much to talk about during his 30 track display. Check out more videos and pictures from the opening night below.
