Pusha T sat down with Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg for one of his most revealing interviews to date. Pusha chatted on the duo’s “Juan Epstein” podcast for an hour full of notable quotables including his continued usage of parallels to drugs.

My Name Is My Name, Pusha T is always going to have parallels to the street. I just feel like at this time you have to respect me for who I am,” he explained. “My parallels just even in using drugs as a metaphor is incredible.”

King Push also kept it modest when confronted with whether or not he believed his album is album of the year.

“Man, I got the best album man. Come on man, Chris [Brown] don’t sound like Chris. Future has never been used like he was used for “Pain.” I got the best verse from [Rick] Ross. My Kendrick verse – ya’ll ain’t hear Kendrick talk drugs or his relationship with the drug epidemic. I got Jeezy sounding incredible. I put together a masterpiece.”

Push also discussed that putting out music as a solo artist took some rebranding on his part. “My godson’s friend thought I was Tyler the Creator’s artist,” he said. With his independent tracks, it took him years of resetting his listeners to no longer expect No Malice to have a follow up verse or appear on the hook.

While the brothers have been pursuing their own musical crossroads, megaproducers Kanye West and Pharrell Williams have suggested taking on the task of producing a full Clipse album.

“I don’t even wanna bring this conversation up any further than this statement, but they both are like, ‘Yo, we just need to do the whole Clipse album. Both of us. And that’s it,” Pusha hinted.
