America’s favorite “fixer” Olivia Pope, better known as Kerry Washington, sits down with Essence magazine for their November issue. During the interview, the Emmy-nominated actress talked a little about the highly anticipated return of hit show Scandal and her leading character’s style versus her personal fashion choices.

“Olivia has three [fashion] modes: Work Olivia, Black-Tie Gala Olivia and At Home Olivia,” she says. “My fashion is more eclectic. There’s Going to Work Kerry, which is gym clothes and Nike kicks. That’s the Bronx girl. There’s also Red Carpet Kerry and Out to Dinner With Friends Kerry.”

The blossoming scarlet, who has graced five-plus mag covers this year alone, was in the hands of style guru June Ambrose for a stunning shimmering gold Rafeal Cennamo couture dress.
