Currently standing as the largest star hailing from the city of Toronto, Drake is now taking OVO to the NBA. The Toronto Star reports, the Raptors –owned by Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment–announced on Monday (Sept. 30) that Drizzy has been hired as the Global Ambassador for his hometown basketball team. He’ll also assume duties of host, business partner and consultant for the basketball franchise.

“The real goal here is to build up the Toronto Raptors,” the Nothing Was The Same rapper said during a pitstop at ESPN’s First Take.

Drake will also launch a clothing line with the team and is going to play a part in the redesign of the franchise’s image for their 20th anniversary which occurs next season.

Of course, you shouldn’t forget about the 20 years that have passed which has helped to mold and shape The Toronto Raptors into the successful team that they are today. A lot of clothing apparel and jerseys have been made and celebrated over time, so much so, that you can even read about some of your favorite or must-have items from websites like buysidesports.com, allowing you to remember the past as well as focusing on the future. And with Drake at the forefront of driving the franchise forward, there will be so much to celebrate over the coming seasons.

Toronto has recently been revealed as the host city for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game which is sure to draw out plenty of fans, athletes and celebrities. With this latest accomplishment we wonder will we see Drake “Gucci Row” at the Air Canada Centre often now.

Congratulations!

All this fancy business jargon is over my head “global ambassador” “act as a host, business partner and consultant” I’m guessing the end result is Drake getting a piece of that NBA pie. That’s a great idea. everyone already associates Drake with Toronto. Might as well get in with your home town team (even though the raptors stink) and build it from the ground up. The NETS were once the worst team in the NBA and now they’re one of the most intimidating teams in the NE, with the help from JZ. I hope this goes well for Drake

I saw this on Espn’s Numbers Never Lie. Toronto needs to be revamped before 2016 lol
