In just about everything she does, M.I.A makes headlines. This time around the Sri Lankan rap-singer is in a secret battle with the NFL over her halftime Super Bowl XLVI performance.

On Feb. 5, 2012, nearly 167 million viewers across America tuned in to watch the New York Giants and New England Patriots square up to each other for an edge-of-your-seat game. However conversation to the centerstage when Madonna and her cohorts, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., performed “Give Me All Your Luvin’.” While simultaneously  mouthing, “I don’t give a shit,” the “Paper Planes” star flipped the bird for the world to see.

Well, it seems the NFL didn’t take kindly to this bad girl’s blatant bad behavior, so on March. 13, 2012, they launched a 1.5million lawsuit against the 38-year-old star.

“She is going to go public with an explanation of how ridiculous it was for the NFL and its fans to devote such furor to this incident, while ignoring the genocide occurring in her home country and several other countries, topics she frequently speaks to,” he lawyer says. “Of course, the NFL’s claimed reputation for wholesomeness is hilarious, in light of the weekly felonies committed by its stars, the bounties placed by coaches on opposing players, the homophobic and racist comments uttered by its players, the complete disregard for the health of players and the premature deaths that have resulted from same, and the raping of public entities ready to sacrifice public funds to attract teams.”

Do you think M.I.A. is being unfairly targeted? Take a look at the performance that caused such a rumble after the jump.
