Drake Faces $50,000 Lawsuit for OVO Owl Pendant
by Karen
Drake is under fire again with former stylist Michael Raphael. Raphael’s jewelry company Baden Baden Inc. is suing the rapper for copyright infringement over a 50,000.00 owl pendant that was custom-made for Drizzy, which he allegedly made duplicates gold knock-offs for his friends.
According to TMZ, the famous jeweler claims that Drizzy hired them to produce the one-of-a-kind custom diamond-studded platinum owl pendant in January for $49,204. About six months later, BB noticed a number of gold duplicates on the rapper’s Instagram leading the company to believe that the original design was taken and recreated elsewhere.
Baden Baden Inc. is claiming copyright infringement, demanding unspecified damages, and wants the “Hold On, We’re Going Home” rapper to fork over all of the duplicates too. Remember, Michael Raphael also has another pending suit with ‘Champagne Papi’ claiming that he has a tab of unpaid styling bills.
Sounds a little tricky, but we’ll keep our eyes on this one as it develops.
