You may not know RedOne by name, but you do know him by his work. Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor,” Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” and most recently Nicki Minaj’s “Pound the Alarm” are some of his claims to fame. His most recent move, however, will probably begin to make him a household name.

Producer RedOne’s label 2101 is partnering with the Cash Money Family with the goal of developing new acts. His track record is already solid with 3 Grammy Awards, over 20 No. 1 singles, and BMI’s 2010 Songwriter of the Year. RedOne released the following statement.

“I have always been impressed with the way Slim and Baby do business. Their determination to build their artists’ careers from the ground to super stardom, shows their sheer commitment. … Together, we’ll be able to continue to help Build Global Stars and make hit music that we hope fans around the world will enjoy.”

Cash Money’s Slim had the following to say about the new joint venture.

“We consider Cash Money a family, and RedOne fits right in. He is a world-class producer, songwriter, musician and now record executive who just adds to what we have built here, and look forward to expanding in the years ahead.”

RedOne’s work with Cash Money is set to focus on LA-based pop group Talkback and Swedish-Congolese singer-songwriter Mohombi.
